The internationally oriented degree course is designed to qualify students for a variety of professional fields in language and cultural mediation. To this end, the course combines a didactic-pedagogical degree with a degree in French or Spanish language and culture and another language (French/Spanish, German or English).
The course offers an insight into the broad profile of language and culture teaching. In addition to imparting knowledge about multilingualism and intercultural competence, this includes various perspectives on linguistic and cultural participation as well as cultural education. Students learn how to teach languages and cultures in a target group-oriented way and how to act appropriately in international contexts. The course is strongly practice-oriented. Students continuously apply what they have learned in various internships and project work. In this way, the course opens up a wide range of career opportunities in schools, educational and cultural institutions and internationally active companies.
The course includes a period abroad at a university in a French- or Spanish-speaking cultural area. Students with French as their first subject can also apply for the Bachelor's degree course in CultureA. This option offers them a binational course of study, which is supported by the Franco-German University (DFH). The third year of study must be spent at the partner university in Anger. Graduates receive three degrees and a DFH certificate as well as access to DFH-organized job exchanges and the extensive DFH graduate network.
